Days after Richland Fire Chief Brandon Weems disappeared before a meeting, only to be found a day later, city officials have released few details about his employment status or whether he is on leave as he recovers from the incident.
City officials on Friday directed a reporter to human resources department officials, who said the information was only available through an Open Records request.
Richland Police spokesperson Allison Clark said she didn t have any updates about Weems as of Friday afternoon.
The search for Weems began Tuesday morning after he missed a meeting. Crews searched extensively around Weems home using drones, ATVs and going on horseback.
