Colorado-based band
Tenth Mountain Division is pushing the sound found in the mountains in bold new directions with their high-energy electro-acoustic sound. With Producer Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth) at the helm, the band recorded their third studio album,
Butte La Rose, with engineer Todd Divel (Hard Working Americans, Fruition) at Silo Sound Studio.
Tenth Mountain Division is built upon the long-friendship of mandolinist Winston Heuga and guitarist MJ Ouimette. The two first met and started playing music together in high school, eventually landing at the University of Colorado in Boulder together where they formed Tenth Mountain Division as an acoustic trio. Over the next few years they added drummer Tyler Gwynn and keyboardist Campbell Thomas. Daniella Katzir is a singer-songwriter who was originally inspired by American folk music of the 60’s. After exploring many genres over the last 25+ year, Katzir is focused on a blend of claw-hammer banjo and Piedmont style finger-picking on guitar, complemented by a variety of vocal approaches from the swing era to gypsy-jazz inspired blues. This evening’s performance will feature her music and the eclectic trumpet sounds of Gabriel Mervine.

Camilla Vaitaitis is one of Denver’s up and coming composers/arrangers/vocalists and pianists. She leads numerous local ensembles and is also a member of Denver’s freelance music scene. Gabriel and Camilla have set out to create a night of her and his original compositions that will feature Taylor Clay on Saxophone, Colin Stranahan on Drums, and Hunter Roberts on the Bass.
