“It is clear the accused’s life is now in shambles,” Rogerson said.
Rogerson also had harsh words for Currado, however, and rejected his lawyer’s plea for a 10-month conditional sentence half of it under house arrest and half under curfew.
“You have caused damage to the London police service and all other police services by your criminal actions,” Rogerson said.
Currado apologized for his actions at the hearing and said he was “extremely remorseful” and “ashamed that I was part of this.”
In a statement to The Free Press after the hearing, however, Currado said, “We’re disappointed in the outcome of the trial and abuse of process motion and we intend to appeal.”
