WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. An employee suspected of shooting three workers at an office inside a Long Island grocery store Tuesday, killing a manager, was arrested hours after fleeing, police said.

Police revealed the identity of the victim in Tuesday s West Hempstead shooting at a Stop & Shop, and provided insight into the alleged shooter, describing him as a troubled employee.
Police tape still surrounded the perimeter of the supermarket Wednesday morning, several hours after the shooting unfolded in the store. The store s website says the location will remain closed until Sunday at 6 a.m.
Police say Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, who collected carts at the store, walked into the location Tuesday morning, went straight to the second-floor offices and shot three managers of the supermarket.

Nassau County, NY police have apprehended the alleged gunman in a shooting at a Long Island grocery store on Tuesday which killed one and injured two others. The shooting happened inside a Stop & Shop supermarket in West Hempstead, N.Y., police said. Authorities locked down the store and surrounding areas in search of the gunman. "The Nassau County Police Department can confirm that the subject has been apprehended and taken into custody," the department said on Facebook.Stop & Shop issued a statement saying: "Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, our associates, customers and the first responders who have responded heroically to this tragic situation. At this time, we are cooperating fully with local law enforcement on the investigation. An alleged gunman has been captured by police on Long Island after a deadly shooting at a Stop and Shop store in West Hempstead.
Police said that 31-year-old Gabriel DeWitt Wilson went up to second floor offices on Tuesday and shot and injured two employees. He then allegedly shot and killed a manager.
Wilson fled the store and was captured about four hours later.
He worked at the store and police are investigating whether the shooting was motivated by a workplace dispute.
