Sports Desk, Jul 2 (EFE).- Peru conceded an equalizer to Paraguay in the 90th minute of Friday’s Cope America quarterfinal before before prevailing 4-3 on penalties to book their ticket to the last four.
Gustavo Gomez put Paraguay up in the 11th minute of the match in Goiania, Brazil, but Italian-born Gianluca Lapadula scored a brace to give Peru a 2-1 edge at the break.
Paraguay had to play the entire second period with 10 men, as Gomez was sent off in first-half stoppage time for a second yellow card, yet they still managed to level the score at 2-2 with a goal in the 54th minute by Junior Alonso.

Peru beat Paraguay 4-3 on penalties to punch their ticket to the Copa America semi-finals after the teams played to a 3-3 draw after an action-packed 90 minutes.
Miguel Trauco scored the decisive penalty for Peru in a shoot-out that echoed the drama match with two shots over the crossbar and three saves.
Peruvian keeper Pedro Gallese set the stage for Trauco with his diving save of Alberto Espinola s attempt.
