My grandmother was a woman who my grandmother was a woman who loved politics, started working at age 18 as a secretary in our state legislature. 75 years ago, she looked around, all the legislators were men, all the staff were women, so she wanted to have a voice. She did not know how, she knew her voice was important, but she figured the voice of all the women was even more important. So she learned to work on campaigns she learned to organize, she taught women had to go door to door, how to stuff envelopes, how to make phone calls, and my first memory on a campaign was when i was henrys age, it was a hot august day, the women were wearing dresses not unlike mine, sleeveless, cotton dresses to keep cool, and there were stuffing envelopes.
