DANVILLE, Va. â During Thursdayâs meeting of the Danville School Board, Chief Operations Officer Dr. Wayne Lyle gave an update on the cityâs high school graduations, which are planned to be outdoor, in-person events at the end of May.Â
Governor Ralph Northamâs announced a plan for safe in-person graduation events, which states that indoor graduations are limited to a maximum of 500 people, or 30 percent of the venue capacity, whichever is less. The divisionâs high schools usually have their events held indoors.
Outdoor locations will allow each high school to host 5,000 people or 30 percent of the venue capacity listed on the certificate of occupancy, whichever is less.Â
