Although formal identification has not taken place, City of London Police said it believed it had found the Year 8 Ark Globe Academy pupil who went missing last week.
He was said to have been travelling with a friend on a bus but did not arrive at the south London school.
The school s executive principal Matt Jones told parents in a letter that the boy was in full school uniform but exited near the bridge, before his usual stop closest to the school in Elephant and Castle.
A man died after jumping into the Thames to rescue a woman who fell from London Bridge. Police were called at 12.12am this morning, following reports of a woman in the river close to the bridge. Two men who witnessed her fall entered the river in an effort to save her. While the coastguard and marine units managed to rescue the woman and one of the men, the other remained missing. A body believe to be the missing man was found this morning. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. It is the second incident this week where a person has fallen into the Thames near London Bridge.

The 13-year-old has not been found for three days despite an intensive search police said. The Year 8 Ark Globe Academy pupil was thought to have been travelling with a friend on a bus at 8am on Tuesday morning (April 23) but did not arrive at his school in south London. In a letter to parents on Wednesday, executive principal Matt Jones said the boy was in full school uniform but exited near the bridge, before his usual stop closest to the school in Elephant and Castle. Mr Jones said in his letter: “It is with worry that I share news about (the pupil’s name), a Year 8 student at Ark Globe Academy.
