Feb 22, 2021 SALEM– George A. Zeigler, 75, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 7, 1945 in Salem, Ohio. He was the son of the late George M. Zeigler and Jeannette I. (Hisey) Zeigler. George graduated from Salem High School in 1964. He attended Salem Trade School for electrical engineering. He began his career at The Electric Furnace Company and was employed by NRM, Roberts Engineering, Morgan Engineering and East Ohio Machine. After retirement he continued to work for Salem City Schools, Essex II and Damascus United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, photography and being the clock operator for Salem Varsity football and basketball. He was the football clock operator for 56 years. He was a public service volunteer for both Damascus Fire Department and Salem Auxiliary Police. As Trump moves out of the White House, Ohio Republicans are left to decide whether their embrace of Trump will persist in a state he dominated twice. Dec 24, 2020 LEETONIA Donald Carl Kelm of Leetonia passed away at his home Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at the age of 65. He was the son of the late Carl and Vida (Swindell) Kelm of Leetonia, and a 1973 graduate of Leetonia High School. Before retiring, Donald worked as a welder at Electric Furnace Company and Hunt Valve in Salem. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Leetonia Sportsman Club. Donald is survived by his wife Janet whom he married Aug. 24,1974; sons, Jonathon (Ashley) and Joshua (Cassie); granddaughter, Lucy; grandsons, Conner and Robert; grandsons, Carl and Robert; and siblings Carol Earl, Judy Leonard, and Kenny.
