Singer and social activist Nomsa Mazwai has joined forces with organisations Sweat and Sisonke to help decriminalise sex work in South Africa.
Mazwai recently founded a non-profit organisation called #FunkItImWalking, whose aim to creates a safe space for women, children and families in their communities.
Commenting on the partnership, Mazwai said: â#FunkItImWalking aims to make it safe for a woman to walk at any time of day in any condition. Injury to one is an injury to all.
âIf sex workers arenât safe, none of us is safe. Sex workers are especially vulnerable because when they are victims of illegal acts of violence, they canât seek assistance or protection from law enforcement.
