we are now three days away from a record-length government shutdown. the president seems intent on focusing only on the border security side of the problem. this is not problem-solving, it is political posturing. his re-election campaign pushed out a fund-raising pitch off the alleged crisis of the heart and soul. we shouldn t focus on specific falsehoods without addressing the big lie behind the speech. i don t believe we have ever heard a modern american president demonize a group of people the way donald trump did. he called immigrants as gangs, human traffickers despite studies showing undocumented immigrants commit less violent crime than american citizens. trump took one-fifth of the speech to describe specific murders including cop killings, rape and a beheading. listen to the last republican president speaking to the same group of people from the same room. we must remember that the
