Been waiting now for two plus years and an awful lot of money. I think our patience is wearing a little bit. Colleagues, i want to give a couple reports, i want to bring this back. My hope is probably early next year to give them time to probably to get a more realistic time frame. I think its difficult to coordinate all of these agencies. Something i have talked to staff about is having a larger discussion with the coordination among the various agencies how is that coordination taking place . We will be noticing that item for a future meeting so we can have a presentation and the presentation and that discussion really should involve the department heads. Another one i want to mention because its starting to kick off is prop k funded several years ago, an annallocation. That grant was received and done really before the m. T. A. And city realized they needed a complete streets bond. I believe a couple weeks ago, the m. T. A. Kicked off community comprehensive planning and walking tours and all sorts of efforts to try to coordinate pedestrian count downs from union to market street. Keep an eye out for further input on that. Another one of the bicycle projects included in prop k allocation is the long awaited market and valencia street gap projects which deals with accommodating a left turn. I wont go into the details, but the good news is construction should start this month.

This fiscal year, one section is budgets to provide services through cbo. In fiscal year 201314, we were using it to pay for one family and that Program Provides parenting education at cj 13 which is the downtown jail and 2 which is a womens jail and cj 5 and they provide parent child visiting and those two services are closely linked because we want our parent child visiting to be more than a contact visit between parents and their children. We want it to be a learning opportunity for parents to learn to be better parents and to build their relationships with their children because studies show that strong familiar relationships reduce recidivism. Sheriffs is obtaining that waiver now. That contract has automatic one year approval so it goes on forever the way its written right now. So our recommendation, number one is we recommend that you amend the proposed resolution to urge the sheriffs to amend it to have a date specific. By the way, the purpose of that contract was to audit and collect the telephone revenues. Thats what that contractor does. Separate and aside from the gtl contract. Secondly, as i noted, theres a large amount in that fund and in fact expenditures in that Fund Revenues in that fund exceeded expenditures consistently for the last three years so our recommendation is that you amend the proposed revolution to have the sheriffs Budget Expenditures in 2014 and in the future to have inmate beb fits and we recommend that you approve this.
