1 dead, buildings damaged and trees down after at least 1 tornado slams metro Atlanta WSBTV.com News Staff
At least one person was killed and numerous trees are down across metro Atlanta after at least one tornado moved through the area Monday morning.
The storms left thousands without power across metro Atlanta and flooded numerous roads.
Here’s a round up of the damage:
Douglas County:
The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado carved a 1.5-mile path through Douglas County Monday morning. The storm had winds of up to 90 mph and was 250 yards wide. Officials are still working to determine if any other tornadoes touched down in other parts of metro Atlanta.
Trees down, debris strewn in South Fulton after storm

The roof of a South Fulton warehouse was ripped off by strong winds on Monday.
Georgia Power said approximately 7,500 customers were impacted by the storms, mostly in metro Atlanta.
Areas of Fulton County reported damage from high winds.
Severe weather brought down trees and significant debris was visible in South Fulton off Westgate Parkway. Debris was disrupting traffic on Monday at around noon.
Workers at a nearby building told FOX 5 Atlanta s Rob Dirienzo they had barely any time to get to shelter after getting a warning about the dangerous weather.
Man arrested for shooting woman on I-85 in Coweta County, deputies say

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies said they have made an arrest in a shooting along Interstate 85 in Coweta County earlier this month.
Deanthony Clark was booked into the Coweta County jail on aggravated assault charges.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said it happened along I-85 northbound somewhere between the Highway 34 and Fulton Industrial Blvd. exits around 5:45 a.m. on April 20. The female victim called 911 reporting she was driving north on the interstate and was shot.
The caller told deputies a gray Buick passenger car pulled up next to her and a man wearing a black ski mask fired at her, striking her.
