Six UConn Students Receive Fulbright Program Grants
UConn had an all-time high of 17 semifinalists for the Fulbright Student Program award, which includes the six finalists and three alternates.

Six UConn students have been selected as recipients of a grant through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program for the 2021-22 academic year. The program provides grants for individually-designed study and research projects or for English teaching assistantships around the world. Students meet, work, live with, and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences.

Clement Abonyi Jr., Special Assistant, Legislative Affairs
Clement Abonyi, Jr. is a legislative policy and process professional who specializes in financial services matters. Most recently, he served as Director of Member Services to Chairwoman Maxine Waters of the House Committee on Financial Services. In that capacity, Abonyi led the Committee’s member services operation and maintained regular communication with standing Committees in the House of Representatives. He played key roles in advancing the Chairwoman’s legislation, advising on legislation drafted by Committee Members, and facilitating successful passage through the Committee and the

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) has selected Pamela Eddy, professor of higher education at William & Mary, as one of 12 faculty members from across the Commonwealth of Virginia to win the 2021 Outstanding Faculty Award.
The awards recognize the finest among Virginia s college faculty for their demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and public service. With 46 faculty recognized since 1987, W&M has received more Outstanding Faculty Awards than any other college or university in the state.
Eddy is a scholar of leadership development whose work focuses on how organizational leadership and learning drive effective change in community colleges.
