i don t think so because he bolted. i mean, he took off from the state trooper once the trooper identified him. i 50 he thought he was so close to the border that he was making a run for freedom, which to me was kind of odd in and of itself because he would have just been out of the frying pan into the fire if he tried to cross the canadian border. our friends on the other side were ready and waiting. but the fact that he bolted i think, you know means he was still looking to get away. but also i was very surprised he didn t have a weapon on him. right. perhaps he did at one point in time but totally unarmed. richard matt, by the way, a couple of days ago when he was caught, he was shot in the head. and david sweat was hit twice in his torso. i m wondering you tell me if you re a member of this task force, do you think these officers were directed if you have eyed on someone, try to take them alive?

i m brooke baldwin. more now on our breaking news on the end of this manhunt but the beginning of the search for answers here. escaped cop killer david sweat wounded by this one lone new york state trooper. he s in a hospital bed in albany. we learned sweat was on his own for a couple of days before fellow fugitive richard matt was shot and killed. we re learning this because sweat is talking, revealing detaifls to investigators about their getaway plan. just a few minutes away, gene palmer, this prison guard accused of helping matt and sweat accused of smuggling hamburger meat full of tools like a hacksaw to both of these fugitives. his toernl said pauxer didn t know what was inside the meat. meantime, let s bring in prison consultant and former inmate larry levine. larry welcome back. glad to be with you, brooke. david sweat is talking. you know, he says that the plan indeed was to get that getaway car from the seamstress joyce
