next term which begins next week. there could be a landmark decision handed down right at the height of the 2012 presidential campaign. steve centanni has that live from washington. steve, what are the prospects here? reporter: yeah, the justice department has made an important decision that will most likely see the new healthcare law going to the supreme court in its current term, or it s next current term that begins in october. the administration decided not to seek an appeal before the full 11th circuit court in atlanta after a three-judge panel on the same court ruled against the healthcare law in august. by a vote of 2-1 that panel said the government is over stepping its bounds by requiring people to buy health insurance, but the appeals courts are divided on the issue. that s why experts believe it s likely if they appeal to the u.s. supreme court the high court will accept the case. if they take it this term which begins in october a ruling could be handed down next spring o
