A Coast brickie who stole $600 worth of petrol to fuel his drug addiction and showed police a fake receipt for a stolen jet ski has been fined for the offences.
Craig Evans stole $599.35 of fuel from petrol stations during drive offs between September 11, 2020 and February 5, 2021 and received a stolen jet ski between November 30, 2020 and January 22, 2021.
Evans performed the fuel drive offs on seven occasions between Nambour and Burpengary.
Magistrate Matthew McLaughlin said Evanâs vehicle must have been âthirstyâ to rack up the bill in the short time frame.
He told the court Evans also tried to trick police by showing them a fake receipt for the jet ski that he said he paid $5000 for.
