A man has appeared in court accused of manufacturing a gun. Alistair McGowan, of Reading Road in Sherfield-on-Loddon, was allegedly found in possession of the firearm on Sunday, April 25, and it is claimed by police that he intended to sell it. The 47-year-old has been remanded in custody pending his next hearing at Winchester Crown Court. No plea has been entered to either charge.
A Popley man has been given a suspended prison sentence after he drove twice whilst disqualified during lockdown. Keith Dorey, also known as Keith Shrubshall, was caught driving a Jaguar X-Type on the A33 on April 11, 2020, and a Vauxhall Frontera on July 26 of the same year on the A30 in Hook.
