Seeking a sign that spring has truly sprung? Look no further than Propstra Square in downtown Vancouver.
The square, located at the southeast corner of Esther Short Park, exploded with flora Saturday morning as local volunteers and staffers came together for a community planting event. By the time they had finished, the ground was lush with around 1,200 flowers cheery marigolds, bunches of geraniums, spindly stems of salvia and vibrant clusters of impatiens.

Stark County Home & Garden Show opens today
By Michael Gruber, President Building Industry Association of Stark & East Central Ohio
The Stark County Home & Garden Show has been putting local homeowners in the mood for spring for over 70 years. Today we open our 2021 show, at noon, at the fairgrounds. The beautiful weather this week has us reviewing our “honey-do” lists and putting us in the mood to get out of the house and enjoy the fresh air. It also turns our thoughts to improvements to our homes – both inside and out.
No matter the age or condition of the interior or exterior of your property, the show provides something unique, affordable and practical to everyone who attends.
