The Fairfield City Council met Tuesday evening for their second April meeting. A $58,786 bid for street improvements was awarded to Mt. Carmel Stabilization. The improvements will include South Airport Road, the North end of Frontier Drive, and Ferrington Farm Road In other street business, the council approved a resolution to use Motor Fuel Rax Appropriation for street projects on Airport Road, East Court St., NW 6th St, and College St. Resurfacing at a cost of $620,000 and work on the sidewalks and ada ramps for Industrial for $40,000. The council approved the purchase of property along Southwest Park. The purchase price for the 5 acres was $38,500. A TIF Redevelopment Agreement of $30,000 was approved for Blessed Blooms, which will be opening on West Main St. The council unanimously declared the election results and certification of ballot for the recently completed election. In Miscellaneous business, Mayor Moore stated that last weekends Spring Cleanup was a huge success.
