Fort Concho Cannon Fire
Experience the life of Army officers and their families on a frontier post on Saturday, March 6 at Historic Fort Concho in San Angelo. Officers’ Quarters 6 will come to life with the sight, sounds, and smells of the frontier as our living historians bake 19th century recipes, play music, and gather safely to tell stories of what life was like for these men and women.
Celebrate the heritage of the United States Cavalry at Fort Concho National Landmark April 22-24 when dozens of riders in period uniforms will compete on courses set on the site’s historic grounds. Drawn from many active forts with memorial units and civilian competitors, the sights and sounds of the old horse cavalry will live again with contests in riding, jumping, pistol and saber skills plus military and combat horsemanship.
