Councilman Ernie Trakas was uninjured when two shots were fired at his car while he was driving Friday on Interstate 64 in Frontenac, in what police describe as a possible road-rage incident.
Trakas, 70, R-Oakville, who represents most of South County on the St. Louis County Council, tweeted Friday afternoon that he was safe and uninjured in the shooting.
The Frontenac Police Department is still investigating the gunfire. Police received a “report of a possible road rage and assault” that happened around noon on the interstate near Spoede Road.
The reporting party, Trakas, said that he was driving eastbound on Interstate 64 when a passenger of a small dark gray SUV fired two shots at Trakas’ car. One of the shots fired hit the rear hatch of Trakas’ vehicle.
