los angeles last year we housed 20,000 formerly homeless individuals and still we saw 16 percent increase. so the city of los angeles is doing its part. we re moving on emergency shelters as well in my district 1500 total citywide. we feel that municipalities throughout southern california and even need to do their part is well. there is a councilmember fro torrance who apparently gave a quote saying that he could guarantee in the past torrents pushed homeless people across the city border and into los angeles, but said it s not happening now. the homeless population in his city has roughly doubled in the past years he says that s evidence at the moment of homeless people is the opposite of what you re claiming prey to says it s a problem there as well. so again, we as a local municipal leaders we are electe to solve problems, not push the homeless issue on another jurisdiction or to a faraway land and my call to action alon
