At its June 4 meeting, the Mercer Island City Council approved a pair of proclamations to establish June as Pride Month on the Island and June 19 as Juneteenth on the Island.
Author BJ Cummings will discuss her book “The River That Made Seattle,” a human and natural history of the Duwamish, at 6 p.m. on March 28 at the Mercer Island Library. Registration is not required for the event, which is presented by Humanities Washington in partnership with the Mercer Island Historical Society and sponsored by the Friends of the Mercer Island Library.
The Dickens Carolers will perform holiday songs in their Victorian costumes from 2-3 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Mercer Island Library. All ages welcome. The performance will be part of the Friends of the Mercer Island Library book sale. The library is located at 4400 88th St. Courtesy photo
MI Parent Edge will host a film screening of “Race to be Human” followed by a panel discussion from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Mercer Island High School Performing Arts Center, 9100 SE 42nd St.
