THE WASHINGTON POST – Ten days after police shot 22-year-old father Stephon Clark multiple times in Sacramento after his cellphone was presumed to be a gun, CNN anchor Don Lemon interviewed Clark’s brother, Stevante, on his evening news program. Or rather, he attempted to interview Clark.
What the nation saw instead was a tense two-and-half minute exchange between two different worlds: Lemon’s professional, suit-and-tie composure and Clark’s T-shirt and bandanna grief.
At the outset, when Lemon asked how he and his family were holding up, Clark fell silent and rang a bell. Confused, Lemon asked, “What does that mean?” and Clark replied: “Next question.” Several times, Clark chattered with someone off-camera and lashed out at the media for swarming people in grief. The announcement appeared to be a tease for a new format for his show.

NOTHING will be off limits when pals Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon launch a podcast called The Handoff later this spring.
Cuomo s CNN show Cuomo Prime Time, which airs at 9 pm on weeknights, is immediately followed by Lemon s CNN Tonight. The hosts often chat with each other during the transition from one show to the other.

Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day,” network anchor Don Lemon recommended white people to read his book, entitled, “This Is the Fire: What I Say to My Friends About Racism,” to learn more about “accountability and grace” following the conviction of Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin in the murder of George Floyd.
Lemon’s recommendation comes in response to Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis having an image saying “I CAN BREATHE 4-20-21” tweeted out from the team’s official Twitter account.
The tweet received backlash online for being offensive, but Lemon said he was not offended by the post.
