saying nadler is senile or half dead. he pushed back saying he s just fine, that s ridiculous. he s not going to comment on that, but it s gotten nasty. there s another incumbent house democrat in risk of losing a seat, mondaire jones. he faces a crowded progressive field in an entirely new district where his name is not as well known. right. this is another result of this messy redistricting process. mondaire jones was elected two years ago to represent a district just north of the city, parts of westchester county and rockland county, but because of redistricting, he chose not to compete against one of his freshman colleagues. instead, he moved to this newly drawn tenth district, which is lower manhattan, really politically active dwistrict, bt he s competing against a dozen other candidates. several running in the progressive lane, which is what he styled himself as. so even in recent days he s been lamenting that they re kind of, the failure to consolidate means we don t really
in the beginning stages of a constitutional crisis. if you have a separate branch of government acquiescing to the president of the united states, really violating separation of powers, this is extremely concerning and dangerous for the democracy. on the political front are you worried that the whole impeachment process could endanger some of your fellow freshman democrats? you won in a republican district, although trump didn t carry your district in 2016, hillary clinton did. are you worried some of your freshman colleagues might be in trouble if they volt fte for impeachment, 31 that won in trump districts? i am proud of my fellow delegates. foreign service officers that served our country and for them, it is not about politics and party, it is about protecting our democracy, about their duty
but the abuses, the obstruction of congress have come from congress. the air was thick with warnings about what impeachment will mean going forward. president trump will not be president forever. if his time is past, when his grip on our pollak its is gone, when our country returns, calmer times and stronger leadership, history will look back on our actions today. i it tell my colleagues, go ahead. vote to impeach president trump tomorrow. but when you walk out, call your freshman colleagues and tell them they re not coming back and you hope they ve-their fun. say goodbye to your majority status and please join us in january of 2021 when president trump is inaugurated again. republicans didn t dive into the facts, preefing to make this
