Plane reports engine failure, crashes in Fauquier County
A plane crashed this afternoon in Fauquier County.
Virginia State Police are now on the scene and tell us:
“At 4:46 p.m. Friday (June 25), Virginia State Police responded to a report of a small, private aircraft making an emergency landing in a field in the 11900 block of Freemans Ford Road in Fauquier County. The preliminary investigation revealed the aircraft suffered engine failure. The pilot and only occupant was uninjured. The FAA and NTSB were notified of the emergency landing. The incident remains under investigation.”

A woman has died and four other people are hurt after a reckless driver caused a head-on crash on Suitland Parkway on Tuesday, D.C.’s police chief says. Officers are still looking for the driver who caused the crash and fled the scene. Sherry Knight of Lothian, Maryland, was killed. She was 42. Knight was a passenger in a Chevy.

Both are being held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
Earlier this week officers arrested 30-year-old Martin Anuar Martinez and 28-year-old Beatrice Guerra in connection with the incident. Both are currently jailed without bond.
According to investigators, Bopp arrived at his home in the 11900 block of Freemans Ford Road on April 22 while it was being broken into.

They say he was shot next to his vehicle when he arrived at the home. He was the son of retired Major Charles Bopp Jr.

FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - The suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a retired Fauquier County sheriff s deputy s son was located and arrested in Pecos, Texas yesterday, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff s Office.
Martin Anuar Martinez, 30, of Manassas was found in Texas by the FBI. He remains in custody there awaiting extradition back to Virginia for charges of murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, armed daytime burglary and use of a firearm in commission of a felony in connection with the death of Charles Bopp III.
Remington murder suspect arrested in Pecos, Texas
Martin Anuar Martinez, 30, of Manassas, awaits extradition to Virginia for allegedly murdering Charles W. âTripâ Bopp, 24, of Remington on April 22. This has been a collaborative law enforcement investigation to solve the murder of an innocent victim of a senseless crime. Charles Bopp III was a loving son, brother and friend to so many in the Remington community. Sheriff Bob Mosier Police in Texas have arrested the suspect wanted for murdering a Remington man last Thursday.
