Owen Ray Bennight, 82, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Freeman West in Joplin, Mo. Ray was born March 21, 1938, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Ray was owner/operator of B&R Furniture, in Nevada, from 19741998. He enjoyed wood working, had a passion for restoring old cars and frequenting car auctions, and was always known to be hands on with family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Betty, of the home, he is survived by three daughters, Sherry Bennight, Evansville, Ind., Cindy Bennight, Pierce City, Mo., and Kathy Edwards (Jim), Nevada, Mo.; five grandchildren, Joshua Person (Sarah), Liberty, Mo., Jason Wilson (Lynne), Evansville, Ind., Andrew Person (Beth), Independence, Mo., Christopher Smith, Greenwood, Mo., and Laura Person, Pierce City, Mo.; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Patricia Houser, Nevada; several nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.
