Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, Dr. Sudath Samaraweera stated that the regulations imposed on the travellers that arrive in Sri Lanka were amended.
He noted that travellers must be subjected to PCR test 96 hours before arriving in the country and that they must produce a negative result to be allowed to enter the country. They will also be subjected to another PCR test once they arrive in Sri Lanka as well.
Afterwards, they will be directed to their allocated accommodation where they can spend their days in leisure.
However, another the tourists will be subjected to PCR testing after 5-7 days and 12-14 days. Given that they test negative for all the PCR tests, the tourists will be allowed to freely travel across the island.

In his Christmas message President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated that while the Christian brethren of the country still anguish over the brutal attacks that took place in the year prior, they were able to dispel the fear and insecurity and provide everyone the opportunity to engage in religious observances freely.
