Berkeley Heights Mayor Among Leaders to Applaud Economic Recovery and Tax Incentives Reform Legislation

Burlington County will continue food assistance  Burlington County will continue food assistance  With the holidays approaching and the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced they will continue to make food assistance available to families in need. The county will hold its latest food distribution event from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 19 at the county Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton. The site is off Woodlane Road next to the Burlington County Institute of Technology’s Westampton campus. Residents will enter from Woodlane Road and proceed through BCIT’s Westampton Campus to the distribution site.

Union County Freeholders Announce Emergency Food Distributions

Reply Press release from Union County: Dec. 16, 2020 The Freeholder Board will hold two food distributions events for Union County residents to aid those affected by COVID-19 on Saturday, Dec. 19. Subscribe A drive-up distribution will be held Saturday, December 19, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Kean University, located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union Township. Also on December 19th beginning at 1:30 p.m., a walk-up distribution will take place at the Union County Division of Social Services building located at 342 Westminster Avenue in Elizabeth. The food distributions are open to all Union County residents. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and no registration is required. The events will take place rain or shine.The food distribution is being coordinated by the County of Union With support from Village Supermarket, Gargiulo Produce, Breadsmith and CMC Foods.

COVID-19 self testing now available in Hunterdon County

Individuals living or working in Hunterdon County can now order at-home COVID-19 tests online via the website Hunterdoncares.org, according to Freeholder Board Director Shaun C. Van Doren. “Providing more convenient and increased access to COVID-19 testing is a priority goal for the Freeholder Board,” Van Doren said. “The county’s Health Department, working in conjunction with Vault Medical Services, has now established a program that makes the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) self-saliva collection test available at home, via the website Hunterdoncares.org. The self-test will be free to individuals and does not require a physician’s prescription.” “The Health Department advises that the PCR self-saliva collection test for COVID-19 has the same effectiveness as the nasal swab test and is conducted under the supervision of a healthcare provider, through telehealth video,” Van Doren said. “The program is funded by a federal CARES Act grant
