Man charged after painting pro-cop blue line on road near N.J. courthouse, police say
Updated Apr 01, 2021;
A Toms River man was charged Wednesday with painting a blue line on a township road when he was not permitted to do so, police said.
The move came days after Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy pitched the painting of a blue line down Hooper Avenue near the Ocean County Justice Complex, which includes the Ocean County Courthouse, according to a report by the Asbury Park Press. Ocean County Director Gary Quinn told the publication that while there was support for the idea from the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, its professional staff had advised against the sheriff’s proposal.
