PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s exports and imports registered positive growth in March, the statistics department (DOSM) said. It said this was reflected in higher export and import unit value indices, which cover the unit value and volume index. The export unit value index rose by 2.2% while the import unit value index grew by 1% over the same period last year. Chief statistician Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the growth in the export unit value index came from all sectors, particularly mineral fuels (8.3%), animal and vegetable oils and fats (4%) as well as machinery and transport equipment (1%).
