DENVER, CO Sunday s report on CBS News 60 Minutes about the U.S. government s acknowledgement of unidentified aerial phenomena UAP, or what is commonly known as UFOs naturally caused a buzz about flashes of light and other phenomena that can t be explained in the skies over Colorado.
Before we get to that, correspondent Bill Whitaker reported for 60 Minutes that the Pentagon has walked back decades of public denial about the existence of mysterious sightings in the sky. The director of national intelligence and secretary of defense are to deliver a report ordered by the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee next month that could shed more light on what s out there.

DENVER, CO Ready for another prediction on what Mother Nature has in store for Denver this summer?
The Old Farmer s Almanac recently released its forecast for summer 2021, which officially begins June 20. While many are likely looking forward to warm days filled with camping, park visits, bike rides and barbecues, the question remains will the weather cooperate?
While it s too early to determine what each day will bring, The Old Farmer s Almanac predicts that the Front Range and High Plains regions which include Denver s metro area and Boulder will get hot, dry weather throughout the summer. The high country, however, is expected to get many showers.

DENVER, CO Colorado State University will receive a $50.1 million grant as part of coronavirus relief funds from the American Rescue Plan, according to allocation figures released by the U.S. Department of Education.
According to the department, the college will receive $50,135,371, of which at least $25.2 million has to go to student aid. Colleges across the country are set to receive funds totaling $36 billion. These funds are critical to ensuring that all of our nation s students – particularly those disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic – have the opportunity to enroll, continue their education, graduate, and pursue their careers, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in a statement.

DENVER, CO The U.S. Department of Treasury on Monday released a breakdown of what kind of financial help communities can expect from the $350 billion Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.
Denver is set to receive $308 million. The city was among 19 Colorado municipalities allocated financial support through the program.
The funds will help to restore Denver services, eliminate furloughs, support vaccination efforts and build financial recovery for Denver residents, the city said.
