Our other top story tonight, two San Jose Police officers are recovering from gunshot wounds after a shootout inside a san jose motel. One of those officers remains in critical but stable condition tonight. Police believe the two officers actions saved the lives of a woman and three children. And we do have Team Coverage tonight. They were going to obviously check it out when all of a sudden shots ring out from the suspect. The officers, they returned fire. Ultimately 30 people were rushed to the hospital. We do know that those 2 officers were hit by gunfire. Thats when they called for backup. And thats why so many officers came to the scene and still remain at the scene. Theyre walking back and forth looking for evidence, looking to talk to witnesses. Many of those witnesses, of course, were inside the hotel at the time. But those officers had no idea that somebody was going to open fire on them. We understand that this all unfolded on the 3rd floor. They came there according to investigators.
