A letter on farm servantsâ wages drew attention to the fact that âwhile the very general custom in Ross-shire is to pay farm servants on the 28th day of each month, some of us are considerably inconvenienced through employers allowing the date to pass, in some cases for days , in a few instances even for weeksâ.
