A gas tanker hit a fire hydrant at around 4 00 this morning. The accident sheered off the hydrant and the gas tankers supply valve. Gas from the tanker has been leaking onto the street. Because its so windy out there this morning, a hazmat team has been called out. Surrounding streets are closed as crews work to clean up the spill. We are told that some of the gas has leaked into nearby storm drains. The closures will be in effect for the next two hours.
