Genea-Musings: Painting My Ancestral Chromosome Map

Here is my DNA Painter home page: 3)  Since I have made a chromosome map, it shows me my status.  When I click on the link for my name, I can see my painted Chromosome Map (two screens): My 23 chromosomes are listed on the left.  Each chromosome has two lines (except my X) - the light blue line is from my father, the light pink line is from my mother.  I only received my X chromosome from my mother because I am male. All of the other colors are from my DNA matches for whom I have known common ancestors.  The color key on the bottom right shows a different color for the known common ancestors of my DNA matches and myself.  For instance, the bottom common ancestors with the purple color are my grandparents, Frederick W. Seaver and Alma Bessie Richmond, who are my father s parents.

Genea-Musings: Christmas Eve 1954 Seaver Family Photo -- Post 649 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can t help it, I can t do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs:  This photograph is from Christmas Eve, 1954.  This is my family - my father, Frederick W. Seaver (age 43 in his snappy bow tie), my brother Stanley (age 8), me (age 11), and my mother Betty (Carringer) Seaver (age 35, seated on the fireplace bricks).   The setting is my grandparents (Lyle and Emily (Auble) Carringer) home on Point Loma in San Diego, in the living room with the famed Carringer fireplace (and chimney big enough for Santa!).  We slept in this house on Christmas Eve, from about 1953 to 1959) and woke up on Christmas morning with the fireplace covered in gift boxes and toys.  I still don t know where my parents slept - maybe in the chairs in the family room?

Genea-Musings: 1954 Christmas in San Diego -- Post 648 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can t help it, I can t do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs: This was my favorite Christmas in 1954.  This was the year that brother Stan and I got Davy Crockett coonskin caps and Daisy BB guns.  In the photo, we are aiming up the hill (Lucinda Street) and I m sure the BB guns are not loaded.I think my grandmother took the picture.   The photo includes (clockwise) my grandfather (Lyle L. Carringer), my mother (Betty (Carringer) Seaver, my father (Frederick W. Seaver), my brother Stan, and me (aiming from my left shoulder because I am left-handed and my left eye is the better eye).
