Melvin S. Strohminger, a retired Social Security Administration analyst whose interest in vintage fountain pens took him across the world, died March 15 at his Quarry Lake at Greenspring home near Pikesville. He was 79.
Col. Orville R. Hughes, a decorated Army officer who was an analyst for Baltimore’s finance department, died March 16 at Stella Maris Hospice in Lutherville. The Monkton resident was 101.
