Former South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley will try to get his old job back in 2022. Jackley announced his intention to run for AG in the next election, yesterday (March 1, 2021). “After receiving countless phone calls and emails from supporters across the state, I have decided to announce my candidacy for Attorney General”, said Marty Jackley. “My service as Attorney General, United States Attorney and as a small-town State’s Attorney has prepared me to again undertake the important role the Attorney General has in working with law enforcement in keeping our families safe” said Jackley. “There is nothing more important than the public’s safety – and the public’s confidence in our ability to keep our families safe.  I will be working hard to earn the support of the voters once again, so I can go back to work fighting to keep South Dakota safe.” said Jackley.

Sunday night house fire in Belle Fourche claims life of 77-year-old male February 15, 2021 BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. A house fire on Sunday night claimed the life of a 77-year-old Belle Fourche resident. The call came in at 5:41 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14 to a home on Prairie Hills Road in the southwest city limits of Belle Fourche. Belle Fourche Fire and Ambulance, Nisland Fire Department, and Spearfish Fire, along with Belle Fourche Police, Butte County Sheriff’s Office and several agencies in Lawrence County responded to the call. Upon arriving at the scene, crews discovered the house completely engulfed in flames.
