WATCH: Alligator napping on bridge causes traffic delays

An alligator made itself comfortable after making its way onto a bridge.
HOUSTON, Texas - We re used to seeing alligators out and about in Florida, but they re not typically seen sleeping on a bridge.
One gator in Houston, Texas made itself comfortable on the Fred Hartman Bridge on Wednesday causing quite a traffic jam.
The Harris County Precinct 8 Constable s Office shared photos of the sleepy gator on Facebook. Texas Parks and Wildlife has been notified so he (or she) can be safely relocated. In the meantime, it seems to be napping! the office wrote.
Lounging Alligator Causes Major Traffic Jam for Lunchtime Commuters

Wednesday turned out to be a bizarre day for commuters on Fred Hartman Bridge in Houston, Texas when an alligator decided to use the highway shoulder to take a nap.
Harris County deputies were given backup by Baytown police and state police animal control officers in order to address the scene and 8-foot-long alligator, reported ABC13.
In a video captured by the news channel, the alligator can be seen lounging on the roadside, seemingly undisturbed by the commotion it s caused. Police vans are parked to block off northbound traffic while waiting for animal control to arrive.
Alligator Stops Traffic On Houston Bridge
I have often wondered why something like this doesn t happen more often in Acadiana, and maybe it does, and I just don t know about it.
Imagine, you are rolling along down Ambassador Caffery when you get the bridge over the Vermilion River only to find that there is an alligator blocking the roadway.
Well, that same scenario played out in Houston Wednesday on the Fred Hartman Bridge according to ABC News 13 who shared the whole episode on their Twitter page.
If you click here, you can see the report by Don Armstrong as the alligator blocked the right lane of traffic. He says that officers from several law enforcement agencies responded to the scene including officers from the Baytown Police Department, the LaPorte Police Department, and Precinct 8 officers from Houston Police.
