LOWER MERIONÂ â There s been a long-standing debate about bringing lights to Lower Merion s Arnold Field. In short, the school and football team want them for Friday night games, but the neighbors don t.
In 2020 it appeared the debate was coming to an end as Michael Wylie, Lower Merion zoning officer, determined that the lights were compatible with the township s new zoning code.
But that decision is being challenged, and it appears the ensuing fight between Wynnewood and LMSD could go well into the summer with the zoning board having the final say - unless the losing side appeals it in court.
LOWER MERIONÂ â A developer in Lower Merion plans to teardown one home and then add six new houses on a site in Bryn Mawr.
This week, the Lower Merion Planning Commission got its latest look at the proposal when it reviewed and recommended the board of commissioners approve the siteâs preliminary plans.
The project includes two existing lots on the 1000 block of Mt. Pleasant Road near Roscommon Road in Bryn Mawr.

Under the plans, the two lots, located at 1064 and 1080 on Mt. Pleasant Road, would be consolidated. The existing home at 1064 would be demolished.
Six new lots, each with a single-family home, would then be constructed with access on a cul-de-sac. Since the combined lot is 7.3 acres in size, it falls under the townshipâs open space preservation district overlay that requires an area of open space. As part of the project, there will be a 4.26-acre preservation area on the property.
NARBERTH â Who can raise your taxes, who you can vote for, even how much noise you make at certain times of the day might depend on which bedroom you sleep in as new questions are being asked about a proposed development on the Main Line.
As the questions are being asked, the project is getting closer to approval.
Now some officials say it could be chaotic if they don t quickly get the problem fixed.

The project is located at 3 Elmwood Avenue in Narberth and includes the property that begins at the last home on Elmwood Avenue and stretches to the Narberth tunnel.
