good morning, everybody. it s monday, august 31st. i m amy holmes. we begin with presidential politics. a new poll from iowa shows trump has completely transformed his perception among the early nominating states likely republican caucusgoers. bloomberg politics des moines register poll finds trump leading the field with 23%. ben carson is just 5 points behind, nearly within the poll s margin of error at 18%. far behind both of them are senator ted cruz and governor scott walker. carson tops iowa republicans second choice and when they re first and second choices are combined carson and trump tie at 32%. outsider rise is best explained by congress. as for trump 61% of iowa republicans hold a favorable opinion of him now, more than doubling his standing in may and over the weekend donald trump gave a preview of what the general election might look like with a scathing attack on trusted aide to hillary clinton. it happened at a donor gathering outside boston which, despite sign
