View Comments Kenydom Floyd still remembers the confusion he felt when he showed for sixth grade at Valiant Cross Academy. It was his first day of junior high and his first time in a private school not to mention his first time in an all-boys school. Though there were many unknowns, it was already clear that being a member of Valiant Cross’ first 30 students was something that carried a lot of responsibility, he said. Five years later and months away from being a member of his school’s first senior class, Floyd said he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. He has blossomed under the weight of the school’s leaders’ calling to be the best version of himself. He joined the golf team in 7th grade and started working at a downtown restaurant his sophomore year – two of just the many opportunities and experiences he might not have been afforded without Valiant.
