A 33-year-old Stratford man with a suspended driver’s licence has two court dates next month after police say he was found behind the wheel twice on the same day this week.
Stratford police said the driver’s white Chevrolet Malibu was first stopped on McCarthy Road near Fraser Drive shortly after 8 a.m. on Thursday. The driver was charged with driving while suspended and given a court date June 22.

The second traffic stop, also in the area of McCarthy Road and Fraser Drive, happened shortly before 5 p.m. Police side the driver attempted to provide a false name, but he was identified and arrested for obstructing police.

Fraud: At 8:30 a.m., an individual on Ninth Avenue NE in Grand Rapids reported a fraud case. The case is under investigation.
Theft:
At 11:23 a.m., medication was reported stolen from a business on Highway 169 East in Grand Rapids. The case is under investigation.
Grass fire:
At 1:42 p.m., a grass fire was reported near First Street NE in Grand Rapids. The officer was able to stomp out the fire.
ATV complaint:
At 2:20 p.m., a complaint of an all-terrain vehicle being driven on Eighth Avenue NE and Sixth Street NE in Grand Rapids. The complaint reported that the ATV driver was speeding and not stopping at stop signs. The ATV was not located.
Domestic:
At 1:25 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a domestic argument on Fraser Drive in Grand Rapids. At the time the officer arrived one party had left the apartment.Â
Runaway:
At 5:56 p.m., law enforcement received a call of two runaway males who left a group home on NW 20th Street in Grand Rapids. Both males were located and were picked up without incident and transported back to the group home.Â
Theft:
At 6:50 p.m., a fleeing shoplifter/theft suspect was reported at a store on SE 29th Street in Grand Rapids. An officer was able to catch up with the suspectâs vehicle. Two suspects were identified and trespassed from the store for one year. Total amount of the attempted theft was $104.79.Â
