EAST LANSING, MI; Feb. 3, 2022 Susi Elkins, director of broadcasting and general manager of WKAR Public Media at Michigan State University, has been re-elected as Professional Vice Chair on the board of America’s Public Television Stations (APTS). The announcement was made by APTS on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Elkins' term begins on Monday, February 28, 2022.

As public media leaders nationwide navigate how to best foster diversity and equity in their workplaces and communities, new Arizona PBS general manager Adrienne Fairwell is among the first group to participate in a program exploring opportunities and challenges related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Today, 31 public media professionals from across the country were part of the inaugural class to graduate from the Public Media Diversity Leaders Initiative (PMDLI), a program of the Riley Institute® at Furman University offered in partnership with South Carolina ETV and modeled after the Institute’s award-winning South Carolina Diversity Leaders Initiative.

New Mexico PBS is always looking for ways to reach the biggest audience.
The station has expanded to offer “World” and “Create” programming to Channels 5.4 and 5.5.
The move began on Feb. 15, and the new channels will join the NMPBS lineup of Channel 5.1 (PBS), Channel 5.2 (NMPBS Kids 24/7), and Channel 5.3 (FNX – First Nations Experience: Native and Indigenous programs from communities and filmmakers around the world.)
