Heart to heart: Dickinson benefit looks to help newborn recovering from transplant
On May 4, Morgan and Travis Heidt of Dickinson welcomed their newborn son, Franklin. Like most new parents, they were beyond ecstatic for their little one’s arrival. However, their son didn’t have the most welcoming introduction into the world as he underwent a heart transplant shortly after birth and continues to receive treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Almost three months old, Franklin Heidt (pictured above) is recovering from a heart transplant he received recently after birth in May in Rochester, Minn. Heidt and his family are hopeful for a new beginning and are asking the community to help with offset medical costs with the Franklin Heidt Benefit scheduled for Aug. 2, 2021, at the Dickinson Eagles Club.
