2 injured, 1 critically, in Mifflin Township shooting

Updated: 8:55 PM EDT July 11, 2021 Two people were injured in a shooting in the Mifflin Township area Sunday evening. According to the Franklin County Sheriff s Office, the shooting happened around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Agler Road and Perdue Avenue. Two people were inside a white Cadillac when an unknown suspect fired shots into the car. A woman was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition and a man was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The Franklin County Sheriff s Detective Bureau is handling the investigation.

White SUV had no involvement in fatal mass shooting at Truro shopping plaza

The Columbus Dispatch Franklin County Sheriff s detectives announced Thursday they have determined a white SUV had no involvement in a fatal drive-by shooting April 17 outside a Truro Township shopping plaza. Detectives are now focused solely on the dark-colored Dodge Durango, Maureen Kocot, a sheriff s office spokeswoman, said in an email. LaToya Renee Carpenter, 39, was killed about 7:30 p.m. April 17 as she drove eastbound on the 5000 block of Chatterton Road in front of the Refugee Center shopping plaza in Truro Township while en route to pick up her 11-year-old daughter.  At the same time, a dark sports utility vehicle believed to be a Dodge Durango was driving west on Chatterton Road toward nearby Noe-Bixby Road.  Someone in the SUV fired gunshots into a small group of people who had gathered near the street in the shopping plaza parking lot outside of the Dollar General for a vigil commemorating the one-year anniversary of the death of 28-year-old Jarrin Hickman,�
