In a note from Katherine Hartwell, Wieneke s mother, and the entire family, they wrote that “Tom repeated the saying ‘If you’re gonna run with the big dogs, you’ve got to get off the porch.’ He saw no limits, as long as it was helpful and exciting. He truly lived each and every moment. “He was born in Greenfield, Indiana, and at a very young age he wrote his Mom a ‘running away’ letter. He told her that even though he ‘loved her and Dad, (he) wanted to see the world,’” they wrote. “At age 18 he packed his van and did just that. He landed in Tallahassee and bought his ‘little piece of paradise’ where he could feed his passion for boating, fishing, wonderful friends and community.

(LEX 18) — Despite having to navigate challenges, 2020 was a historic year for the Franklin County Humane Society. The humane society has seen plenty of cats and dogs come through the doors. In 2020, 95 percent of them left after being adopted, reclaimed by owners, or transferred to other rescues. That s the first time the outcome rate has ever been that high in the organization s history. That s an extraordinary feat in the midst of the pandemic, said Shelter Manager Kerry Lowary.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Watkins; three children: Kyle, Ashley and Emmalee Watkins, all of Eureka; her mother, Sharon Terrill of Union; one sister, Shanon Kuhlmann and husband Robert of New Haven; one brother, Bryan Terrill of Union; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation for 46-year-old Tracie Watkins will be Monday, December 28, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Franklin County Humane Society.
