President Biden said, If we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day.

After the new coronavirus data was released yesterday, San Diego is staying in the purple tier! The rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents was 8.8 and we needed to be at a 7 or lower to get into the red tier. However, our testing positivity percentage is 3.3%, which qualifies it for the orange tier. Based on the new data and current reopening system, the earliest we could move to the red tier is March 30.
The Del Mar super site vaccination super site will be closed this weekend due to a shortage of vaccines. The CEO of Disney has announced that Disneyland plans to reopen its gates in late April. He doesn’t think it will be ready by April 1st and right now there’s no exact date for reopening but the park does plan to recall thousands of workers that were furloughed. Meanwhile, theaters in LA could open as early as March 19th. LA covid numbers dipped into the red tier yesterday so if they can stay there for another week
