The Versailles Lady Tigers placed sixth out of 34 teams in the Class 1 District 3 Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Nevada High School. Versailles, which finished the weekend with a pair of state qualifiers, totaled 85.5 points in the district standings. Marshfield won the district team title with 210 points, propelled by eight state qualifiers, while Holden was runner-up with 130 points.
BUFFALO Led by Emmy Begemann s first-place finish, the Fulton Hornets finished fifth out of 23 teams in the Buffalo Thundering Herd Tournament, their final regular season meet, Friday at Buffalo High School.
Blair Oaks girls wrestling coach Tim Karsten was everywhere Wednesday night during the Blair Oaks Tournament. With 11 girls competing in 13 weight classes, he was always going from one match to the next. Blair Oaks tied for second place out of 13 teams with 87 points in the final standings. Fulton won the team title with 116 points, boasting five individual champions.
